The International Journal of Community Service and Sustainability (IJoCSS) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published content. The journal implements a comprehensive archiving policy to safeguard academic contributions and ensure their availability for future generations.

1. Digital Preservation

To maintain the integrity and accessibility of scholarly content, IJoCSS stores and preserves all published articles in multiple digital repositories and indexing services. These platforms provide redundant and geographically distributed archiving to prevent data loss.

Articles are archived in:

  • Garuda (Garba Rujukan Digital) – Indonesian national indexing system

  • Google Scholar – for broad academic discoverability

  • PKP Index – maintained by the Public Knowledge Project

  • BASE (Bielefeld Academic Search Engine) – a trusted academic search engine

  • Internet Archive – optional backup for long-term storage

  • Institutional repositories – via collaboration with partner universities and research centers

2. OJS LOCKSS Support

The journal uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, which supports LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS networks. These are secure digital preservation systems that ensure articles remain accessible even in the event of website failure or data corruption.

  • LOCKSS: Allows multiple libraries to preserve journal content

  • CLOCKSS: A community-governed archive for long-term digital preservation

3. Self-Archiving by Authors

Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit all versions of their work (submitted, accepted, and published) in:

  • Personal websites

  • Institutional repositories

  • Subject-specific repositories

  • Any non-commercial platform

This aligns with the journal’s commitment to open access and knowledge dissemination under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

4. Continuous Availability

IJoCSS guarantees permanent availability of all published content. In the event of journal discontinuation, all archives will remain accessible through partner repositories and digital archiving services.
